FBI Director Refuses to Confirm or Deny Joe Biden’s Alleged Burisma Bribe Investigation

4 min read

The FBI Director, Christopher Wray, has declined to comment on whether President Joe Biden is under investigation for alleged bribes from Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company that once paid his son, Hunter Biden, $83,000 per month for a board position. During his testimony on Wednesday before the House Judiciary Committee, Wray refused to confirm or deny whether Joe Biden allegedly accepted payments from Burisma or any other foreign companies.

Wray’s response came after Tom Tiffany (R-WI) asked him whether Joe Biden is under investigation for an alleged bribe of $5 million. Tiffany also inquired if Joe Biden took payments from Burisma as Vice President, President, or a private citizen.

Wray directed Tiffany to U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who testified earlier this week that the FBI informant form alleging the Biden family bribes is part of an ongoing investigation. Weiss’s statement appears to correspond with his original statement about Hunter Biden’s plea deal.

The line of questioning comes as an FBI informant claims to possess two pieces of evidence showing that Joe Biden and Hunter Biden received $5 million each from Mykola Zlochevsky, the Burisma executive. The informant alleges that Joe Biden threatened to withhold aid to Ukraine until a prosecutor was fired.

House Oversight Committee Republicans who reviewed the bureau’s FD-1023 form confirmed the allegations. They believe that Hunter and Joe Biden allegedly “coerced” the Burisma executive into paying them $10 million in bribes. According to Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the FBI informant also claims that Zlochevsky kept 17 audio recordings of his conversations with Hunter and Joe Biden as an “insurance policy.”

During the hearing, Tiffany asked Wray whether the President is under investigation, but Wray refused to confirm or deny the investigation, citing the FBI’s long-standing department policy and practice. Wray stated that he would not be confirming or denying who is or isn’t under investigation.

The FBI’s policy on confirming or denying investigations aims to preserve the integrity of ongoing investigations and protect the privacy of individuals who may be under investigation. By not confirming or denying an investigation, the FBI ensures that the investigation remains impartial and free from external influence.

The allegations of Hunter Biden’s involvement with Burisma have been a source of controversy since 2019. Hunter Biden joined the board of Burisma in 2014, while his father was Vice President of the United States. Despite having no experience in the energy sector, Hunter Biden reportedly received $83,000 per month for his position on the board.

Critics of the Bidens allege that Hunter Biden’s appointment was a result of his father’s political influence. They also claim that Hunter Biden’s position on the board influenced the Obama administration’s policy towards Ukraine.

Joe Biden has denied any wrongdoing regarding his involvement with Burisma. He has also denied knowledge of his son’s involvement with the company until after the fact. In his defense, Joe Biden has said that he acted in accordance with U.S. policy towards Ukraine and that his efforts were aimed at promoting anti-corruption measures.

Joe Biden has also dismissed the allegations as a political smear campaign orchestrated by his opponents. He has accused President Trump and his allies of trying to damage his reputation by spreading false information.

Burisma Holdings is a Ukrainian energy company that focuses on oil and gas exploration and production. The company is one of Ukraine’s largest independent natural gas producers.

Burisma has been at the center of controversy in Ukraine due to allegations of corruption. The company’s founder, Mykola Zlochevsky, was accused of embezzlement and corruption during his time as Ukraine’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources.

The allegations of Joe Biden’s involvement with Burisma have had a significant impact on his presidency. They have called into question Joe Biden’s integrity and have raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest.

If the allegations are proven true, they could damage Joe Biden’s reputation and his ability to govern effectively. They could also have long-term implications for U.S. relations with Ukraine and other countries.

The FBI Director’s refusal to confirm or deny whether Joe Biden is under investigation for alleged Burisma bribes has raised more questions than answers. The allegations of Joe Biden’s involvement with Burisma have been a source of controversy for years and could have significant implications for his presidency.

As the investigation continues, it is essential to uphold the integrity of the investigation and ensure that justice is served. The American people deserve transparency and accountability from their leaders, and it is up to the FBI to ensure that justice is served fairly and impartially.
